|Cape Reinga Lighthouse|
Cape Reinga (Te Rerenga Wairua) according to Maori legend is the departing place of the spirits of the recently deceased. It is the dramatic meeting place of the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean on the northwesternmost tip of the Aupouri Peninsula. This area is famous for icons like the Te Paki Stream and Ninety Mile Beach.
Close to Ninety Mile Beach you will also find Aupouri Forest, one of the largest man-made forests in the southern hemisphere and the Ancient Kauri Kingdom where you can marvel at the huge 5,000 year old swamp kauri logs. Here you can also view unique hand crafted furniture and wooden products.
