Cheapest and best rental place I found in Dunedin, highly recommend NZ Rent a Car, was such an easy process, communication was excellent and the vehicle I got was perfect and so cheap on fuel for the 4 days I booked, above and beyond expectations! definitely will use this rental company again, thank you sooo much!

We hired a car through Rent a Car Dunedin for a week. It was such an easy thing to do and our car was waiting for us at Dunedin airport when we landed, clean and in fabulous condition. Great place to hire a car good price great service

I've rented cars from this company several times and have always found them very good to deal with. I believe they changed ownership earlier in the year and the prices briefly went up, but they seem to have become more reasonable again, so they're back to being my favourite car hire company. When we had weather-related travel issues, they were very amenable to changing our hire at short notice, which we appreciated. Recommended.

I have used NZ Rent A Car several times and will continue to do so each time I visit Dunedin. There is an efficient pick up and drop off arrangement, using their key drop box at Dunedin airport. They have well maintained vehicles and very reasonable prices, also a good communication system to confirm details.

Perfect car exactly as expected, on time and easy to find and return. The Toyota Corolla was very fuel efficient! Thanks very much

Extremely satisfied renting from this business. Friendly and helpful staff. Great communication all the way. The car was perfect too and by far the cheapest price! They also had no problem swapping a booster seat for a proper car seat (my own communication mistake) on the day of pick up - much appreciated! Love the airport shuttle service, free of charge! Great experience, great service

Great to deal with. Arranged hassle free out of hours pickup and drop off. Our hire was good value. The van was showing it's age in a few places but it hauled 6 people and a ton of luggage without fuss and was very economical.

Just want to thank NZ Rent a Car for a great service and a great car. We had a Corolla Hybrid and around Christchurch it was perfect, so good on fuel, would definitely hire another hybrid in the future. On the long drives to Mt Cook, Lake Tekapo and Akaroa other than slight struggle up hills, it had enough power for the long drives. On drop off we got a shuttle bus back to the airport. Big thanks to the Christchurch team.

Good guys to deal with.

Such a great company. I got a blown tire within my first hour of renting the car and the company could not have been nicer. They explained that the Jack was under the passenger seat and I was able to put the spare on drive it back to the shop where they immediately gave me another rental. Cannot express how professional and courteous they were and was even given advice to where to pick up a good and cheap cell phone for while I was in town. If you're ever in New Zealand and need a rental car these are the people to use

Very helpful staff

Super helpful and can-do from when I first rang to see if I could pickup a car a day earlier. The budget 4 wheel drive wagon was great value both the day rate and also that it was a 6speed auto transmission meant fuel economy was good to. I'll be booking my upcoming car rental requirements in summer and next winter through NZ Rent A Car.

Seriously thought we were going to be stuck without a car as all other rentals were booked out, but these guys still had two cars left and for a reasonable price! Very cheap and very cheerful. I rented a 2008 Nissan Tiida for the almost unheard of price of NZD$19 a day. A really willing and well maintained car which was more than adequate for the 1300km we did in five days around Northland. The staff at Auckland went well above and beyond when my sister left her phone in the car. They happily dropped it back to us at the airport not long after we let them know.

This is my go-to rental place. They've got some of the best prices in Auckland's North Shore for cars. We also just used one of their moving trucks and they definitely had the best prices for trucks. Plus you get 100km free with your truck rental. The staff is also really friendly which makes this place even better. When we pulled the truck back onto their lot (in the downpour rain) they met us at the truck with an umbrella to try to keep us dry. Would give 10 stars if I could!

This was our first interaction with this car rental company based in Dunedin. Easily it was one of the best experience we have had so far with a car rental company - and we travel a lot and hire a lot of cars in different locations, and so are able to compare.Craig - the person in charge of this set up, is totally customer focussed. He is friendly and does not hesitate to go out of his way to meet a customer's requirements. For example we were travelling to Dunedin for the first time and so casually enquired with Craig about the best way to reach the car yard. It was a surprise to hear him offer to hand over the car at our hotel. Not only that - he even arranged to collect the car from our hotel at the end of the rental without charging anything extra.The car provided was clean and in very good condition.It was a very different and pleasant experience dealing with Craig, and this car rental outlet.

Wonderful service from before we arrived up until the airport drop-off on the way home. For the price point — which ended up being 50% less than competitors — we were willing to lose out on customer service. However, this was not the case. They looked after us and made everything seamless with our rental experience. We will definitely be using this company in the future!

This was the nicest car rental I've ever had!! I was a little nervous using one of the smaller car rental agencies, but their location was right next to the other agencies charging twice the price. Their communication was excellent. My little car was maybe a little older, but it was in great condition, sparkling clean and good on gas. I would definitely rent from them again.

Wow what great service you get from Orange. Easy to use online tools and great people to deal with, most of all the prices are *the best* out there. Cars are always clean and comfortable. Because we always book the smaller compact cars we find they are super economical on petrol. Staff are very accommodating.*Do yourself a favour and give ORANGE a try*

Picked up our car rental out of hours (9pm) - taxi driver was waiting for us, straight to the office where the car was ready to go. All was fine with the car and the communication with the team from start to finish was excellent. You can have 2 drivers at no extra cost. Really sensible. 4WD. Easy car to use up all the metal ski access roads. Reasonable rates to hire. Had ski racks and chains. Will use again

Our private car packed a sad so off to Toyota it went. We rented a car from NZRentACar, got ourselves into a pickle well away from home and Kerrin and Al came to the rescue and got us sorted - even though that meant working outside their usual hours. I was really impressed with every part of our customer experience. Really friendly helpful people. Prices excellent, car was better than expected. Got shown how to put the snow chains on and it was really freezing outside but the guy was happy to lie on the frozen ground and show me how they worked. Drop off was a cinch, in fact the whole experience made me want to make sure I use them next time we go to queenstown. Awesome customer experience!

I've used this company twice now and would recommend wholeheartedly. I was picked up and dropped off at Christchurch airport promptly both times. I felt they went out of their way to accomodate me. Both times the vehicles were more than satisfactory to my needs. I was given wonderful personal care at all times.

The staff were very friendly and professional. They answered all my queries and, as an International booking, made the online booking process very easy. The vehicle was mechanically sound and served the purpose of transporting a team of 12 players very easy.

Good experience. Made a phone enquiry after my booking and all sorted prior to car pickup. they came to collect me from airport within 2 minutes of getting outside. Upon arrival at their off airport but closely located office, they checked my DL details etc. against my web site booking and all sorted. Upon return of the vehicle, I explained I didn't have time to fill the tank before returning. No problem was their reply, we can call in and fill up on the way back to the airport. (That saved me a $30 fee). Would happily use these people / company again. All good.

We booked a SUV for our family holiday in Queenstown in December 2019. The car was clean and in a very good condition. The staff was friendly and supportive. Hazel free paper work.The pick-up and drop-off from airport was quick and easy, brilliant service. Prices are very reasonable compared to other rental car companies in Queenstown. Highly recommended.

Best place to rent a car in Queenstown. The car was almost brand new, took less than 10 minutes to pick the car and less than 2 minutes to return it. The car was beautiful new Mazda CX 5 at the price you would get a basic sedan at the other popular car rentals near the airport. I went directly to their office which is a few mins drive from the airport. They did give me a free ride to the airport on return. Can highly recommended them. No hassle, excellent service. I highly recommend this place. The car was ready when we arrived at the rental place after being picked up at the airport by the staff from NewZealand Rent a Car. The paper work was quick and painless and we were on our way. On the drop off, one of the staff took us back to the airport in the same car so we did not have to transfer bags!! Everything was done qucik and effecient and the staff was friendly and helpful.

We have been living in NZ for two years now and have taken several vacations with car rentals. Of these, we have used the services of NZ Rent A Car twice: in Dunedin and in Queenstown. In both instances the price was great, we were happy with the cars, but even more so we were impressed with the service. Nowhere else was the process in the office so quick and painless; it virtually took 2 minutes to get our car. In Queenstown, the shuttle service from the airport, which drives you to the office in 3 minutes, was already waiting as we came out of the terminal, so we didn’t have to wait a minute. The same happened when we returned the car. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We would definitely use this services again when we arrive in Queenstown next time and need to hire a car.

Recently visited Queenstown and was a little hesitant at first to try a car rental company outside of the larger well known companies I see in the US all the time. I decided to give it a whirl, and couldn't be happier. I was picked up by New Zealand Rent a car Queenstown at the airport with a smile. They even directed us to some great restaurants and gave us the hook up for a local restaurant. Very impressed and would definitely use again. We saved a ton of money and walked away happy!

Had a really great experience with the NZ rent a car. Price and service were unbeatable. Prior to our arrival we had some changes to our booking which they helped us with quickly. Communication was top notch, they called us prior to landing and met us at the airport and we're happy to wait while we had issues with our luggage. The car was in great condition and comfortable for our party of 6. They had already preinstalled the carseat for us too! Everything was seamless and we have no complaints. These guys are awesome.Somewhere between booking my car early in 2018 and three weeks before we were due to arrive in December for the Christmas break, miscommunication or customer error, turns out the car was unconfirmed and was therefore re-assigned. Other options available were two small, 4 adults and four bags and 3 sets of golf clubs were never going to fit in a small to mid size car 😳24 hours later and hey presto, they called me back and had managed to find a car for me.The fact that they managed this shows a commitment to customer service and satisfaction. I can’t praise them enough. GREAT TEAM 👍
